The (petro)chemical industry sets higher requirements for chemical resistance, safety and electrical conductivity than general industry. In practice, this means:
- an inner lining resistant to the specific media, such as UHMWPE for acids, alkalis and hydrocarbons
- electrical conductivity from coupling to coupling for use in ATEX zones
- dry disconnect couplings that release no drop or vapour on disconnection, optionally with selectivity coding so that products cannot be mixed up
- flange connections that cannot open unintentionally, even at high pressure
- dedicated hoses per product to prevent mixing
In general industry, a multipurpose hose is often sufficient, such as the FLOWINFLEX® MULTIPURPUS for air, water and mildly aggressive chemicals. Also view all chemically resistant hoses.
